Looking back: a self-reflection
2024 was an intense year for me because I struggled with my own high expectations and insecurity about my skill level and how to proceed. I think that over the last months I've gained a better understanding of my situation, my current skills and challenges and how I can balance projects, drawing for fun and practice and my social life.
By completing BELONGING, I have proven to myself that I can realize such a comic project from start to finish (sending it to the printing company is the only thing left to do).
Going forward, I want to focus on improving my skills and building my style, my body of work and my self-confidence. For this to succeed, I have to take achievable steps instead of wanting to do everything at once.
Let's see what happens.

My plans for 2025
In April 2025, I’m tabling at a convention for the first time!
You are welcome to visit me at:
I’ve also applied for a table in the artist alley at Fantasy Basel 2025, but that’s not confirmed yet.
In 2025, I want to work on some short comic projects (probably just a few pages each) to improve my drawing, inking, coloring and storytelling skills. Maybe I'll put together a booklet with these short comics (we'll see).
My comic project plans overlap with my vision for this newsletter: I like the idea of publishing individiual pages of my comics here as I create them, and I’d like to continue once I’ve shared all the pages of BELONGING. Having a publishing schedule not only gives me structure, but also helps me to stay motivated and consistent in the long run.
If you like my work, consider buying me a coffee. Every donation, regardless of the amount, helps me to continue creating comics and illustrations and to cover the production costs. Or, you know, drink coffee.
Thanks for your continued interest and support. ❤️
Take care and until next month,
Ilona
