Hello!
I am back to working on my short comic! Progress is slow as usual, but at least I’m making progress.
Sketch Collection
In October, during my drawing break, I put together a collection of sketches from the last three years (2023-2025). Last month, I made a few booklets.
Printing, folding, stapling, cutting - all done by me. ✨
If you want one, you can buy it my online shop (shipping only within Switzerland and included in the price):

I’m slow 🐌 / Quality vs. quantity
I think I’ve always been pretty slow when it comes to creating art. At art school, where I studied illustration, I generally took a very long time to complete illustration assignments (probably too long), and that put me under a lot of pressure. I still struggle with not being faster, especially when creating comics, and now even more so because I can no longer simply draw for longer periods of time due to my wrist problems.
I may be someone who prefers a quality over quantity approach, which is not necessarily a negative thing. However, I am aware that drawing slow could simply be a sign that I lack skill, routine and confidence, especially in the area of drawing from imagination. Better resource management could also make a significant difference (breaking news: taking breaks is actually good for productivity).
To be honest, I am very fortunate that in my current situation I can set all my own deadlines (as my partner kindly pointed out). This gives me the opportunity to focus on improving my craft and to experiment with tools, process and style, which will ultimately speed up my workflow.
Take care,
Ilona

I hear you, irrational deadlines were what made me quit my design studies.
